HOW-TO-TUTORIAL #1

Here we go for the HOW-TO-TUTORIAL #1!

Do you have always struggle and thought of giving up using FreeBSD, GhostBSD, NetBSD, openBSD due hardware issues or other reasons?

Well, there's a good and important message for you!  You can use a tool called "hw-probe".

This tool can be found on:

https://bsd-hardware.info/?view=howto

How to get started on BSD? Here there's a short explanation using FreeBSD:

On FreeBSD 11.x, 12.x or 13.x  use the terminal command:

1.    pkg install hw-probe

2.    hw-probe -all -upload

Afterwards you can check out on the webside the results!

For other BSD OS or as well how to install and use it on Linux check out the links:

a) Linux: https://github.com/linuxhw/hw-probe/blob/master/INSTALL.md

b) BSD: https://github.com/linuxhw/hw-probe/blob/master/INSTALL.BSD.md

Do you have any further questions, critics or feedback? Just comment on this post!

Cheers

  1. Can you test pkg install hw-probe on aarch64 when booting FreeBSD 14.0 on a Raspberry Pi 4B?
Is there an aarch64 application that works just like its x64_86 cousin version?
